Shooting Victim Identified In Allentown

Authorities in Allentown have named the 58-year-old man who was shot and killed on a city street early Saturday morning, Sept. 23.

Orlando Ibanez was struck by gunfire on the 500 block of West Allen Street around 1:45 a.m., said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

Ibanez, of Allentown, was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest where he died from his wound around 2:20 a.m., the coroner said. His death was ruled a homicide.

Allentown police and Lehigh County detectives are investigating, the Coroner's Office added.
